Karwar Beach

The splendid Karwar beach is named after Karwar town, which is the administrative headquarter of Uttara Kannada district, situated in the South Indian state of Karnataka. It is also known as Devbagh beach, which is the most beautiful beach of the region. The unique location of the town is very much responsible for the immense beauty of the place, as it is sandwiched between Western Ghats on one side and the Arabian sea on other side.

The virgin beauty of the sea attracts everyone towards it. The beauty of the sea has even inspired several poets and writers to pen down their imaginations. The great Indian personality – Ravindra
Nath Tagore wrote the beautiful lines in the grace of sea as – ”The sea beach of Karwar is certainly a fit place in which to realize the beauty of nature is not a mirage of imagination, but reflects the joy of the infinite and thus draws us to loose ourselves into it”.

The sea has its pretty importance since ancient time, as it was the major site of sea trade with Arabs, Dutch, French, Portuguese and British. Also the eminent Islamic scholar and traveler ‘Hajji Abu Abdullah Muhammad Ibn Battuta’ passed through this route many times during his travels and excursions.

Karwar sea is the perfect place for the nature lovers, who want to feel the essence of nature. When the sun rays kiss the crystal clear sparkling water and silver sands at seashore, a picturesque sight created, mesmerizes everyone. The magical sunrise and the sunset at the sea is worth watch.

The panoramic surroundings of the sea makes it an appropriate picnic spot and holiday destination as well. The lush green palm tress, dotted all around the beach increase its beauty several times.
